For what it's worth, Google Books can also be a very useful source for older material that has no copyright restrictions on it.

This particular case is available, for instance, in The Exchequer reports found at http://books.google.com/books?oe=UTF-8&id=03kOAAAAYAAJ (and also via the Hathi Trust Digital Library at http://catalog.hathitrust.org/Record/010433885), just in case the English Reports version on CommLII is insufficient.

Hi Julie,

This is also available in the English Reports which are available on CommLII http://www.commonlii.org/uk/cases/EngR/1862/642.pdf

The Cardiff Index to Legal Abbreviation, aside from the brilliant job it does deciphering the abbreviations, also provides information on which of the old nominate reports (I think that’s right terminology!) appear in the English Reports.

See for example the entry for H & C http://www.legalabbrevs.cardiff.ac.uk/abbreviations/atview/id/2228/asearch/h+%26+c/atype/Exact

Alternative Title:
Period : 1862-1866
Preferred Abbreviation: H.& C.
Alternative Abbreviations: H.& C. ; Hurl.& C. ; Hurl.& Colt. ; Hurl.Colt. ; Hurlst.& C.

Subject: Looking for a case: Horsefall v Thomas (1862) 1 H&C 90

Good morning!

Some of my students need a copy of this UK case by tomorrow (of course, they only told me today) and it’s not included in any of our subscriptions. Can anyone help?

Horsefall v Thomas (1862) 1 H&C 90

Many thanks!

Julie
