Hi David.

I tried to search using my limited knowledge of bahasa Indonesia, and
managed to find something relevant from a site on health
decentralization policies maintained by the Center for Health Services
Management, Faculty of Medicine, University of Gadjah Mada University a
page with discussion on 'Good Samaritan law' in Indonesia (which is
called "hukum orang Samaria yang baik" in bahasa Indonesia) and someone
pointed to the Penal Code ( http://tinyurl.com/65xkgvu
<http://tinyurl.com/65xkgvu> ), and here's the excerpt:

'Good Samaritan law' juga ada di Indonesia:
KUHP
lima ratus rupiah.
Pasal 306 (2): Jika salah satu perbuatan berdasarkan pasal 304 dan 305
mengakibatkan kematian pidana penjara paling lama sembilan tahun.
ratus rupiah.

For the English version of the Penal Code, you can refer to UNHCR's
Refworld ( http://tinyurl.com/5smpy9z <http://tinyurl.com/5smpy9z> ) or
other international agencies such as WIPO (
http://www.wipo.int/clea/docs_new/pdf/en/id/id039en.pdf
<http://www.wipo.int/clea/docs_new/pdf/en/id/id039en.pdf> ). They keep
a copy of incorporated/revised code published 1999. Please refer to the
articles as mentioned above, i.e. articles 304, 306(2), 359, 361 and
531.

I hope this can help.

Best,

Rita

Subject: [Int-Law] Request for Assistance

Colleagues,

I am trying to determine if the following jurisdictions have legislation
loosely known as "Good Samaritan" legislation.

I have searched Google, WorldLII, and other sites on AustLII, but as I
am not sure what such legislation would be called, I am unable to find
out exactly.

Jurisdictions are: Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, Maldives, Thailand, and
India

Any assistance would be gratefully appreciated.

Regards,

David Sinfield
